How do talismans work?

Talismans are created to attract and channel a particular form of energy (depending on the purpose indended) to its bearer producing psychosomatic changes within the bearers' mind, body, spirit and emotions.

They activate the corresponding forces within the human psyche of which they materially represent with certain images, symbols and characters (i.e. letters).

We reflect the COSMIC in our totality, so whatever is evoked from the outside (the macrocosm) causes a corresponding center within the microcosm (the human being) to resonate, be aroused and awakened -- the reverse is also true.

This forms a triangle of interaction between the microcosm, macrocosm and the mediator (the talisman) bringing about a desired change in the talisman bearer's life.

Talismans are constructed with a single-pointed purpose and intent while the magician's conciousness is under the influence of a magical force. The potent expression of an undeviating will, attuned with one's devine counterpart, produces magickal effects, and in talismanic construction this is utilized to channel spiritual forces into a material base tus reviving a "dead" object with an occult life.

I would like to add a note here. There are some people who may be of the opinion that there is a "superstition" behind the belief in the power of talisman. This is not the case. The truth of the matter is that it is not the talisman itself that is of benefit to the bearer but the force flowing to and through them. This force is derived from the Universal Spirit, the Source of all manifestations, the power that people who hold on to a religious philosophy call "God". Talismans are simply the media for the embodiment of certain aspects of universal energy, comparable to a batery that stores and provides energy of an electrical nature.

The power charged into a talisman, as alluded to before, awakens the inner-self of the bearer. It primarily affects the subconscious mind by way of suggestion and the induced magnetism upon the aura, the chakras, and the autonomic nervous system making its subtle impact upon the brain.

Bearers of talismans ought not to depend soley on them for changes in their lives, but to strive to excert personal effort and to maintain faith in the Source of their being.
